Furniture Class

First furniture class and my mind is going a little cuckoo clock right now. And we've got homework! Here's a taste of what we discussed...

French inspired. Inlaid floor. You know I love green. Those chairs are bergere style, a French chair with closed upholstered arms and upholstered handholds. Lots of ornate mouldings. Although the chairs are Louis XVI style, they have some Greek inspired details on them. The mirror and fireplace are all French inspired.

I like when I see a mix of styles - I found a few that I'll show you in another post.

Here is some drapery love that I spotted and had to share...

This color palette is so pretty. A minty green and cranberry...perfect for this time of year. I can't tell if those draperies are displayed with holdbacks or if they have reefing detail - if I had to guess I would say there are holdbacks there but it's hard to tell. Either way they are beautiful. Imagine taking those off the windows, the room wouldn't be the same.

More later - hope your week is going well.

  3. Hi Holly! Bergere chairs were my first obsession. I think I still have the Horchow catalog that had the ones I coveted. Alas, my rooms are just too small- heavy sigh!

  4. Love the Bergere chairs in green ;-) And I agree, if those drapes came down, the windows would look so lost and bare, and eeeek, the room half dressed!

  7. Both rooms are really fabulous, but that first one is making me drool a little bit. Especially with those chairs! What a fun fabric color on such serious chairs!
