More Master Bedroom Inspiration

2012 is when I hopefully get around to finishing up our master bedroom. We've already done a lot of updates to the room believe it or not, but once we had Sheila it really wasn't a priority. Well I'm making it a priority for 2012.

I've been gathering inspiration and items for the room slowly but surely. I wanted to give you a quick peek of where the inspiration currently stands...

The DwellStudio coverlet was the jumping off point here. We purchased it early last summer at Target. It looks like it's no longer available. I can't say enough good things about this coverlet. It's the perfect weight and has the coordinating print on the other side which I like a lot.  If you're tired of a bulky comforter or duvet cover, then it's definitely worth checking out these coverlets.

The navy and white pillow cover is from West Elm and I've had that for a little while too. That also appears to be no longer for sale on the website.

The fabric swatch is DwellStudio Boteh in Brindle and I haven't decided yet if it's going to be for pillows or for draperies.

Because I opted not to get the matching shams when we got the coverlet, today I ordered these striped shams from West Elm as I thought they coordinated well with the coverlet. West Elm is having 20% off all of their bedding right now and I also had an extra 15% off coupon code. I love a good sale!

Then I added in the sweet bird dish that I had won from Marianne's blog and thought it was the perfect little object that also includes the grey from the coverlet. I've been using my dish to house some of my small post earrings that I always manage to lose.

And painting the beast is coming along slowly but surely. More slowly than surely.

That's the latest for the master. I'll continue to post updates on this project. I might even set reminders for myself so I stay on task with this.

What project is on your current radar?

  4. My sister in law has that darling coverlet. I have always wanted it! I love what you have going on so far. The patterns, colors and textures are all so complimentary. I'm excited to see the progress. Good job on wearing lipstick have you found a good shade? I think I need to work on that part, mine is looking too bright!

  7. I love this combo Holly. I ordered the same fabric sample and love the look although I thought it was too light for curtains. Can't wait to see you move ahead with the room. Here's to getting things finished:)

  8. Such a great start! I love the coverlet and the latest shams you picked up at West Elm. Great job of coordinating. Also, I'm super jealous of your navy and white pillows from west elm. I totally wanted one, but then went to buy it too late!

  10. I like where you're going with your room. It's going to look really cozy, and I love your panels! What a nice choice.

Well for current projects, it's Kaleigh's room, and then I'm really, really hoping to tackle our office. It's set up, is functional, but there's no 'pretty' happening... not yet!

  11. This gray and yellow color scheme is such a favorite of mine, and I love the patterns you've chosen! My master bedroom is the most neglected room in the house--good luck making yours beautiful! Looking forward to progress updates :)

P.S. Thanks for your comment on my son's nursery--glad you liked it!

  12. Oooh, I love this, Holly! Great combo of colors and patterns! That Boteh fabric is awesome, anything will look beautiful in that! I've been wanting to work on our master bedroom too. The walls (which have high ceilings and would be hard to repaint) were this medium blue tone when we moved in. I've been wondering if I should bring in some navy. Hmmm. You've got me thinking, thanks!

  13. I've always loved that coverlet too. Gray and yellow is one of my favorite color schemes, so I think your room is going to look great! I'm excited to see it progress. The Dwell Studio fabric would make pretty curtains.

  14. I love how this is looking, Holly. I have that Dwell fabric swatch, too, for a project but am not decided whether I am using it. Your palette is fun and fresh.
