Framed Up

One of the pieces we had picked up at the Manayunk Arts Festival needed to be framed. I took the piece up to our local framing shop (Coll's in Conshohocken - for any local friends - they're awesome!) and I got the call Friday that it was ready to be picked up {yay!}

Photo has a filter via Instagram

This abstract art is by Liz Williams. I remember when talking with Liz that she described her technique exactly as she does on her website. You can't tell in this photo (partially because of the filter) but the two areas at the bottom are actually textured pieces of paper or cardboard - and just layered and layered. I'll have to take a few other photos that capture the colors and texture a little better.

This is going to be going in our master bedroom, so once it's hung up I will take some more photos. Also happening in the master are new window treatments - and I'm excited. Should have photos in the next week or two and will post them.

Hope you had a great weekend. **PS - I officially went back to the gym for the first time in almost 2 years this past weekend - and it feels GREAT. I had a moment and just decided to do it. Now I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. If anyone has great fitness apps - please share! I'm doing My Fitness Pal and I also have a Nike app that does different 30 minute workouts.

  4. I saw this on Instagram and think it's so gorgeous! Yay for you on hitting the gym! I found a 4 minute workout on Pinterest and just tried it today. It was the first workout I'd done in about six months and it felt great too (after I was done deciding whether or not I should call 911!)

  5. Look forward to seeing the results. Congratulations on going back to the gym. I gave up the gym environment because it did not suit me - I needed to focus on workouts and needed the equipment free but it was getting to be too much of a social scene for me. I do zumba and wii fit at home as well as occasional yoga classes, some walking and some biking when the kids are free.

  6. It's beautiful, Holly! Can't wait to see it up in the master bedroom. Thanks for the reminder that I have a couple of things I want to frame and get hung up:)

    Congrats on getting back to the gym!! Its such a good feeling...I mean, I hate the gym, I'm not a gym kinda girl, but I go to Zumba class and I cherish that hour of dancing!!!!

  7. What a beautiful piece Holly! I love the texture and almost mixed media feel of it. Your master sounds like it's coming along so well--can't wait to see it! And I'm so impressed you are going to the gym. I haven't seen the inside of one of those in like a decade...wow, I can't believe that's right, but I think it is...
