How About a Bam or Slam?

Today I'm at The Mustard Ceiling helping Elizabeth out with her Bam or Slam series, which is one of my favorite series to read each week. Every week Elizabeth chooses a design concept or item that is on trend, and puts it out there to her readers to weigh in on whether that concept or item is a "Bam" (woo too, love it, need it, would definitely do that in my home) or "Slam" (hated it, nope, no likey, not in my own home). You get the idea - it's a lot of fun!

Any ideas what I've chosen for this weeks topic? (if you haven't seen it yet)

Head on over to see and join the discussion...

And I can't forget a big thank you to Elizabeth for making my blog so pretty - she has played a major part and has been a major supporter for me over the past year. She is the best. I've done a few updates around here and have a few other things in mind as goals for the rest of the year. There's so much to think about when you have a blog - the content, the technical side, the readership - and I love every bit of it. And it's been a great platform to starting my decorating business too, which even more work but so rewarding.

Ok, enough babbling by me - have a fantastic day and let me know your feedback on my Bam/Slam topic.

  2. BAM! Love it - I ditched my daughter's double bed for this very reason. Love the symmetry!!!

  3. Love the topic you've chosen! Definitely a BAM for me.....twin beds remind me of sleepovers, vacations, talking and staying awake past bedtime, and all things childhood. Except when they're done up so beautifully, as they are in the photos you've posted, the look is very grown up--the best of both worlds!

  4. Cool! What a fun series!!! Totally did not know it existed. You did a great job, Holly!! Definitely a classic that's become a trend, and those are some great inspiration pics. I say BAM:)

PS. We do think alike...I was just pondering the next MBM yesterday. Got my idea, just have to put the post together. I think you will like it, actually, it was inspired by you:) Thanks for your advice on the chalk/milk paint too!

  6. Loved your Bam or Slam! I had to give it some thought, but I'd have to say SLAM. I think it only works for kids rooms. Seeing two twin beds reminds me of watching old TV shows that showed the couples sleeping in separate beds, which I always thought was a little creepy! :)

  7. This sounds like a great series--heading over to check it out...

I couldn't agree more Holly about the fun of blogging. I never knew when I started my blog how much fun but also how challenging it would be. There is such a learning curve but it's also a way to create another rewarding project! Your blog has been such a treat for me and is one of my favorites. -Lane

    1. Thank you so much Lane - I feel the same about your blog - and that's something else that makes it so rewarding is finding talented people all the time and stumbling across blogs that I really enjoy reading (and never knew of them previously).

  9. Great post, Holly! Your amazing inspiration photos had me wanting to check Craigslist for twin beds for a guest room redo, but I'm already knee deep in projects! Maybe in a few months!
