Oh my word, I have so much to share with you guys. I don't even know where to begin. I have the week off and have been enjoying lots of quality time with the family. We've been to the zoo and the Please Touch Museum. The week started after a visit to Big Pool, MD for a picnic at my cousin's house. Has anyone ever been out that way? It's beautiful and things are just a lot slower and so peaceful there.

My cousin has a beautiful piece of property. Sheila enjoyed looking at the horses that would hang out in the pasture below.

My cousin has the biggest garden and does such a nice job with it...

I snapped a few close ups early in the morning. I love when the dew is still on the grass and plants.

And signs of fall - hooray!

Here's a photo of Sheila and her big cousin...and there's Lucky the dog in the background. The kids had so much fun playing in the pool. Sheila is fearless in the pool which makes this Mommy very nervous, but she's doing really well with her swimming.

And then we came home to updates around the house...I got the call that our painting job would be scheduled for this week. Hooray! (Oh, did I mention that we're having the first floor repainted? We are. I was ready for an update and will write more in another post).

Preview of window treatments that got installed in the master...

And preview of wall color that is happening in the living room...BM Camouflage. It looks SO good and really brightens up the room a lot.

Hope you're having a great week - I'll be around soon to read your posts since I'm very behind in my reading. Oh and Monday is John Robshaw inspired design boards for Mood Board Monday - will be a fun way to kick off the week.

  1. Hi Holly! Your cousin's place is so pretty. I can't imagine having a garden like that...think of all the fresh produce. Sheila is getting BIG. Isn't so fun the older they get and they more things they notice, can do, etc? Your updates are looking good too.

  2. Ahhh, your trip sounds heavenly! I love places that boast a slower pace of life. It's refreshing indeed. Is Sheila swimming on her own??? If so, I'd love to know how she learned because I want Luke to learn as soon as possible! By the way, she's just adorable!

  3. So glad you are taking some time off to enjoy summer while its still here, Holly!!! Sounds like you guys are having so much fun!! OMG, that is Sheila?!! She looks like a total big kid!! So cute and grown up with that long hair:) I'm so glad you've been posting pics so that I watch her change and grow, its amazing. Isn't her birthday coming up like really soon? What are your plans?

Ooooh, the whole first floor is getting painted? Awesome. Looove that Camouflage color! And love the pattern on those drapes. Can't wait to see more!!!!

Almost done my mood board. We are headed up to Portland, Maine tomorrow for the weekend to visit one of my good friends. She has 3 kids, hopefully Maura will be in heaven and we can enjoy some adult catch up time:) Have a great weekend! See you Monday!

    1. Hi Sarah - Sheila's birthday is Sunday. Can't believe it.

  4. Wow, you guys have been busy! I was admiring your cousins farm on instagram -- what a beautiful spot to visit/have a picnic! :)

And, I'm so excited to see your house updates! Your curtains are beautiful ... and I love that you're repainting the entire first floor!

    Have a great weekend :)

  5. I love the new window treatments! And the new wall color is beautiful! Enjoy the weekend! :)

  6. Things are looking so savvy and fresh... But no where even close to your little sweetie. Sheila is such a cutie! :-)
